Boot camps or brat camps as they're often called, are an alternative school for troubled teens. Boot camps in California are  very strict schools have been around for almost one hundred years. The philosophy at boot camps is that a very strict and structured atmosphere will change a  troubled teen.  Boot camps for troubled teens believe that if the military-styled curriculum can change civilians into soldiers, then they can also change troubled teens into well behaved children.
