The Indiana Prevention Resource Center (IPRC) was established in 1987 to assist Indiana-based alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) prevention programs improve the quality of their services. Our primary target audience is the community of prevention professionals and volunteers, and government officials who are providing or monitoring delivery of ATOD prevention programs to Indiana residents. We enable prevention professionals to deliver evidence-based prevention programming to the general public.

International Boarding Schools

The IPRC's target audience for prevention programs includes individuals who are not drug dependent. Primary prevention programs serve non-users and those whose use has not progressed beyond experimental or infrequent casual use. Secondary prevention programs serve those who are in the early stages of drug involvement, while still reversible through education and intervention programs. The objective of ATOD prevention is a lifestyle free of interference caused by the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Such a lifestyle is predicated upon no use of illegal drugs and no illegal or harmful use of legal drugs.
