As Craig Rogers, the Executive Director of our featured school, describes it, the main reason that so many of this generation's teens are rebelling and causing so much trouble for their families is due to a disease which you will not find in any medical dictionary but probably should, called Entitlementitis.

"Entitlementitis is not a real disease, but you would swear that it was. It has real symptoms that develop, like "lack of appreciation", and "disrespectfulness", and "defiance against authority", especially parental authority. This disease strikes mostly gifted teens, the kids with all the resources, talents, and potential. Teens with Entitlementitis all act the same to! They never have enough, they have all the answers, yet their life is out of control. They make poor decisions and blame everyone else for their failures, and think that the world owes them everything, but they are not required to work for anything. Kids with Entitlementitis want all the best things in life without earning them, and their friends are the most important things in their life, easily selling their parents short in favor of their loser friends. You can spot a kid with Entitlementitis real easily as they lie, decieve, complain, moan, blame, criticize, and reject good sound values and proven principles, hard work is considered to be "retarded". An adolescent with Entitlementitis can not make it on their own, and the only way they can survive is to con, scam, lie, and cheat others. Entitlementitis is a condition of the heart, and is often referred to as being "cold hearted" and/;or "heartless". Entitlementitis is a condition brought about by prolonged exposure to unearned prosperity, secular music, and immaturity. There are many treatments out there that claim to cure Entitlementitis, but the only known cure is a deep, intimate, and real relationship with Jesus Christ."
